Summer Camp 2024, Sat, June 29 to Fri, July 5

Summer Camp is hosted by St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, MN, and welcomes Pan-Orthodox participation in attendance, staffing, and in the planning of our programs.

• Who: Campers entering 3rd – 12th school grade in the Fall of 2024

Greek Dance Troupe Practices

All St. Mary’s youth, ages 6 to 18 years, are invited to join the Greek dance program. Monday dance practices will begin on May 20, 6:00-8:00 PM and continue through the summer months. Greek dance practice for kids ages 4-6 years old will begin Sunday, July 21, in the Lecture Room immediately after Liturgy for 30 minutes. Please register if you are interested in having your child participate. Dance at our Festival, we must!

Festival Baking Has Started for the 2024 Taste of Greece Festival Bake Sale!

We are continuing baking for the 2024 Festival Bake Sale! In July we will make melomakarona and we’d love your help to make the work light. Please volunteer at the Philoptochos Table on Sundays or through Sign Up Genius.

• Saturday, July 20, Noon – 7:00 PM. Melo baking & honeying.

Novice and experienced volunteers are welcome, as are friends. You can come for an hour or for an entire session. Every gift of time is valued. Thank you!

Saint George Antiochian Middle Eastern Festival, July 13 and 14, 2024

Our brothers and sisters at St. George Antiochian Church invite the Minnesota Pan-Orthodox community to assist them with their annual Middle Eastern Festival. They are looking for volunteers to help out at the festival on July 13 and 14, if you are available please review the online sign-up for the 2024 festival! The annual Men’s Fall Retreat at the Karos Cabin will take place Friday-Sunday, September 20-22, 2024. Plan now to attend. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis. Make your check payable to St. Mary’s, marked for Men’s Retreat. Your check is your reservation.

Pilgrimages to Serbia. Fall 2024 and Spring 2025

Icon Art Studios is hosting cultural, art, and historical pilgrimages to Serbia. Icon Art Studios recently hosted two pilgrimages to Serbia. These experiences were extremely successful in the warmth and expertise of our host and tour guide from Belgrade, Deb Korluka’s icon board maker, Miroslav and his daughter Simona, who is an art historian. These pilgrimages will be offered in the fall and spring if group numbers fill to a minimum of ten participants. The itinerary consists of monastery visits almost every day along with visits to wineries and hotel spas. Itineraries will sometimes vary, such as including Sofia, Bulgaria. The tour begins and ends in Belgrade. Many Serbian cities are included. Please call or e-mail Deb Korluka if you are interested in either this coming fall or 2025 spring/fall possibilities.
