St Vladimir’s Seminary 2023 Lenten Retreat
Each year at the beginning of Great Lent the St Vladimir’s Seminary faculty, staff, and seminarians come together to pray and listen to a series of spiritual talks. This year, Dr Peter Bouteneff presented a four-part series titled “The Social Self and the Inner Life: Reflections on Communion, Introversion, Extraversion, and Compassion.” St Vladimir’s Seminary welcomes you to listen to these meditations. Dr Boutneneff explains how to cultivate compassion and prayer in a community and how to balance your inner life and communion with others. We pray each talk will help strengthen your relationship with God, with each other, and with yourself.
The Children’s Word
Presvytera Alexandra Houck created The Children’s Word bulletin so children will know they are not only welcome in church, but even more, an essential part of the Church family. Each issue includes a message on the Sunday Gospel lesson and on one of the saints for the week, with age-appropriate articles, stories, and activities. She hopes this weekly bulletin will be just one more way we can make kids feel at home in church. Presvytera Alexandra is a graduate of Duke University and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
