Christos Anesti – Christ is Risen!
Jesus Christ:
The Wisdom and Power of God
The universe, astronomers tell us, is made up of a hundred million galaxies, each with a hundred million stars. Our telescopes and satellite probes tell us of a cosmos without borders, without horizons, without ends or limits.
If we reverse the direction of our search and turn to inner space, there too we find that even what seems familiar and predictable is actually as surprising and as infinite as outer space. A physical object as plain and solid as, say, a kitchen table, turns out to be a restless soup of subatomic particles in a void of space.
Whether we turn our gaze outwards, or inwards, we contemplate a living, dynamic world without end.
And so too it is with Jesus Christ. Whether we look outward, to witness the power of His saving word in a dying world, or whether we look inward, to contemplate His power to penetrate and transform our inner soul, we become aware of Christ as the power of God and the wisdom of God (I Corinthians 1:24).
In the wake of His Resurrection on this glorious Easter morning, the disciples of the Lord will become apostles and witnesses of the Lord in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8). Likewise, Christ shall fulfill the promise to us that He made at the Last Supper:
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor-Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever. (John 14:16; Amplified Bible)
Whether it is manifested in the ministry of the apostles, the boldness of the martyrs, the wisdom of the Fathers, whether we are empowered to venture into the outside world or the inner landscape of our hearts, whether we look around us, or search within us, there will always be ever deeper regions open to the work of Christ, who proclaimed:
Behold, I am making all things new! (Revelation 21:5)
